Incisional hernia – individual treatment from the experienced medical specialist Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck
An incisional hernia is one of the most common complications after operations in the abdominal region or laparoscopic (laparoscopic procedures). A hernia, which occurs after a laparoscopy, is called trocar site hernia.
Here too, the technique is selected according to the size of the hernia, the hernial orifice and the patient’s general condition, accompanying illnesses, etc. All these points are important for a tailored approach.
In case of an incisional hernia, only the smaller hernias, the ones with a minimal hernial orifice, can be operated under local anesthesia. Apart from that, a general anesthetic is needed.
